A friend of mine used a beautiful image this morning, that I just had to share. She remarked on what “a tangled web we weave” in our lives.

I have often found myself peering over the shoulders of clients, looking at the intricate pathways and connections and wondering why they are so complex, so complicated, so tangled. The answer, though, is the same every single time: SURVIVAL.

Surviving the day, the challenge, the nightmare, the relationship, the ghosts, despite the weakness that we feel. In therapy we create a safe space where the strands can be strategically untangled and more effectively reorganised. It can be a scary process, but leaves you less likely to be held back by your own lifelines.
